Four Evenings on Prayer

“My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.” Mt.26:36-46
(Jesus’ Prayer, in union with Ours!)
Prayer is a “vital and personal relationship with the living God, it is the raising of one’s mind and heart to Him”. The essence of our prayer is communication, forming a spiritual communion with Him, through adoration, worship, supplication, confession, praise and thanksgiving.
Come join us and experience some different types of Prayer; Lectio Divina, Praying in Color, Centering Prayer and Healing Prayer.
The workshops will be held on Thursday evenings, April 23rd and 30th, and May 14th & 21st, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.
To register please contact the Parish Office at 744-2391 ext. 10, or Religious Ed Office at 744-9944 ext. 11

We pray for wisdom, strength, and an open heart to discern the voice of the Good Shepherd and courage to follow that voice wherever it leads them! I also encourage you to read Cardinal Dolan’s Catholic New York column on the canonizations of Pope Saint John XXIII and Pope Saint John Paul II as they both were popes with great love for fidelity to the youth! If you live or work in any of those areas (not limited to just that specific town/city but the region surrounding) and would like to be a part of the initiative to organize events, please don’t hesitate to contact me at luigi.manente@archny.org.

Upcoming Events for
Young Adults of the Hudson Valley
|
New York City recently has their first ever MASS MOB which was a huge success as over 250 young adults from the NYC area converged on St. John the Baptist Church & Friary in Manhattan on August 24th to give it a little attendance and financial boost for that weekend. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to organize a program like that in the Hudson Valley. To read more about the NYC Mass Mob in this week’s Catholic New York, click HERE. We are adding to our social and network media by creating a LinkedIn group to help Catholic young professionals from across the Hudson Valley connect to share their businesses, networking opportunities, job opportunities and information on how to incorporate your faith not only into your personal life but into your professional lives as well. To join this group on LinkedIn, click HERE. There are a number of volunteer and/or paid positions for youth ministry, campus ministry and catechetical positions (Religious Education) open across the Hudson Valley. If you are interested in being involved with the youth, please contact us so we can connect you with a local parish in need. Get involved with the Young Adult Office’s “You Did It To Me” Apostolic Volunteer Program. We want to help you get connected to volunteer opportunities at soup kitchens, nursing homes, homeless shelters, hospitals, and other great works! Interested in volunteering with kids (Big Brothers Big Sisters) and/or kids with special needs? Or how about “disaster relief” like helping those affected by Superstorm Sandy? Please contact Clara.Gonzalez@archny.org to get connected. Over half of a million people marched on the Supreme Court building last week to witness to the sanctity of life at all stages. It was an awe inspiring experience that we pray you consider being a part of next year. In the mean time, the Sisters of Life and FOCUS http://www.focus.org/ have recently launched a Life App. This is a great tool to aid those who are seeking to serve pregnant women in their deepest time of need. Download the Life App by searching “The Life App Catholic” in your app store.
